I checked my blog today and I suddenly realized that it has been months since the last time I published one. In the process, I saw a reader’s comment which caught my attention. She (I hope) said that she was “a number 1” fan who derived inspiration from what I wrote. Call it cheesy but it was “kilig to the bones” hehe. It dawned unto me that with this simple hobby of writing, I actually do inspire people with the ideas that I impart. People do actually take time to type in their browser box my URL just so that they can see if new articles are published or not. And now I am actually reminded of a follower who said that in the absence of new ones, she has read some articles more than a couple of times. A friend likewise asked me why I did not bother to write about the controversial PACQUIAO-BRADLEY fight.
Come to think of it. My blog dealt on the discussion of experiences in cases that I have encountered in my years of serving in this government office. Except for a few stab on some issues, such as my take on fights of my favorite MANNY PACQUIAO, I cannot say that I ran out of topics to discuss considering that for the past first half of the year, I have been in the news practically every month (there was even a time when I appeared almost weekly) relative to some important case accomplishments. The events of my life the past half-year were also deserving of some space in my blog. These only show that there was no absence of a material to talk about. Did I just lose the itch to write, lazy for that matter or plainly a lack of inspiration to create new material? Was the recent SARAH GERONIMO-GERALD ANDERSON issue not exciting enough?? Certainly not!
But you see, friends, for someone who doesn’t derive income from writing, to do so, is in reality not really automatic anymore. It takes some form of inspiration, or a little push to face the keyboard and get the right words together to come up with a material. I also realized that while I have to consider a de facto obligation to my readers, the real motivation is to come up with a product which I will be proud of, not something which is borne out of a mere want to publish something new for the readers.
Finally, I hope that when this writing itch comes back, there would be no holding back. Believe me, I never lacked the motivation, the inspiration for that matter, I just don’t think that some finished articles in my archive were something that would merit my pride for myself. To that number 1 fan, when I start publishing new ones, you would say that I was never gone after all.
Keep on writing!
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of silent readers out there who enjoy your thoughts, whom you educate, inspire, entertain, not necessarily in that order.
Like u said, regular visitors read old articles all over again kung walang bago. Just keep writing. Good luck
